I have been visiting this cafe with my grandma for a long time. We will go to the Art Institute specifically to get sandwiches from them, as we did today. Today, I got the chicken pesto sandwich and a half cup of the Thai chicken and rice soup. I'd post pictures, but they're both definitely long gone. Their portion sizes are great for a filling lunch, the service is always kind (and patient with the pace of slower elders), and I love that my 9yo now loves pesto, haha. 10/10 in every way.

Got a salad today, literally half the lettuce was rotten, ranch was chunky. Not risking eating it. Waste of $12. Not the first time its happened either. Won’t come back for lunch here.

I’ve been visiting the Flint Institute of Arts museum for years and have been ordering the London Fog Lavender tea from The Palette Cafe. I love the flavour of this ☕️tea, and I’ve been meaning to get lunch here now for some time. Today, I talked my son into eating here for lunch and we had the Caprese sandwiches. The sandwich is made on homemade bread 🍞 from Detroit, with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes 🍅, onions 🧅 and pesto sauce. The sandwich 🥪 was slightly grilled and came with a pickle. The sandwich was substantial and tasty, the pickle was crisp, the tea was hot and soothing and the server was kind and professional. We sat outside the cafe and enjoyed the ambiance of being near the museum. The sandwiches are a little more expensive than a submarine shop, but they were great quality and tasted delicious! I really enjoyed my lunch and if you’re out and about and want to try a new place to eat or you want to go to a museum and stop in for a quick lunch or tea, try out Palette’s cafe.
